![]() ![]() I've played GWT 50 times and brass about 20 times. Still, both games are excellent, and I'd play either without hesitation. I love Brass but it's not exactly the type of game for my group as it's a bit too heavy. 4 player brass is what I'd call a "heavy casual" game, since the decisions are very difficult but the outcome can be very volatile. Roxley’s Brass Birmingham is a gorgeously historic game that captivates and enthrals gamers looking for an involving dynamic strategy title. I'd like to know games that are similar to Brass but simpler. I've found GWT to be much more rewarding for skilled players than brass, where people tend to clump together in points and whose leads are very fragile. GWT also has more subtle interaction, which is a better paradigm for competitive games, as it leads to less volatile outcomes and less effective kingmaking. You can build an entire game plan from a single mid-tier building from the start of the game. GWT, which ostensibly has three "main" strategies, has a lot more nuance to them and you can plan them in much more creative ways. Brass plays out pretty similarly from game to game, and you have generally the same overarching strategies (heavy into one of the three industries, heavy into beer/links, some hybrid strats). Brass Birmingham Board Game w Folded Space insert - Roxley - Excellent Condition Be the first to write a review. There is generally more creative play in GWT. Brass has this to a certain degree (playing around the cards you're dealt while adjusting to the board state), but it's just so much more drastic in GWT. ![]() Pfister manages to make a game that simultaneously has a lot of planning involved and still has a ton of tactical pivots that force you to constantly re-evaluate your long-term strategy. In this game you have several choices: build textile factories. That being said, I think GWT is the better game. Brass: Birmingham is a strategic economic game set in Industrial Revolution England.
